Whether you want to or not by adding items to the corner you are in fact highlighting that area and directing the eye that space. I will warn you consider keeping corners empty if you’re selling a home to maximize square footage.

But, if you do choose to decorate a corner make it count! Here are three simple ways to dress up the space.

Consider adding a floating shelf or built-in unit in the corner or near the corner like this. By using furniture that displays items you can instantly swap out accessories to keep the corner looking fresh.

Create an additional seating area, corners are a great place to curl up with a good book or have an intimate conversation. Here’s what you do. Caddy corner an accent chair, add a small table for an accessible surface and a floor lamp to shed light in dark corners.

Add a touch of nature. Don’t want to make a big commitment in your corner? Then try adding a large plant in the area to take up space and add some personality. You can also hang the plant from the ceiling or use plants as wall art.
